Are Business Cards Still Relevant, Useful And Needed?
Printed materials -an old story? We’ve heard the same story about printed books: e-books are so much handier and less expensive than printed books, which are bound to disappear. However, the fact is, there is now a growing trend in the publishing business for making luxury editions where high quality paper and covers or incredible artwork and design are a must.
Business cards play a similar role these days. Everyone has several email addresses where their contact details are embedded in their online signature, and it’s part of our daily networking activities to swap numbers using our phones. Thankfully, we don’t depend on browsing through an endless cardholder to find a phone number anymore. Now all the necessary information is stored in our digital address books, which has rather ironically elevated business cards to a very special place.
Long gone are the days of boring, plain business cards that would be stored away in a messy drawer and forgotten for days to come. We’ve moved away from business contexts like the famous business card scene in American Psycho:
That very dark moment when you find yourself envying the colour or the type of font used by one of your contacts in their email signature is now the updated American Psycho scenario, but at least we do that in private now.
Today, business cards have become a fancy piece of identity for your brand or services that are given away almost as a present.
Our approach
At Drimlike, we never get tired of coming up with new, innovative designs where high quality printing, materials and artwork turn a piece of paper into a bespoke product that businesses can be remembered by.
Look at it this way; the more we move on to the Internet, the Cloud and digital devices, the more we cherish the physical, offline world. Why not take this opportunity to plug your brand and make new contacts that will remember you as a thoughtful business that likes to pay attention to detail?
Trust us, we are digital. We know where paper is still winning the battle.
